A local leading manufacturer of perlite and vermiculite wanted a new website that accurately reflected their business. Here’s how we made it happen.
Our client boasts four decades of being a family-owned and -operated business that specializes in the production of a whole range of grades of perlite and vermiculite. In the beginning, they mainly worked with the horticulture industry. But in the decades since, they’ve grown exponentially and are now serving an array of clients in the industrial sector. They wanted a website revamp that would speak to that change and make it clear that they were strictly a wholesale producer.
Our team had some direction from the client about the style of their ideal website update after making a point to visit them in person, on site. They were looking for something clean and modern, but also rich with product details. Our client wanted to showcase the quality, variety, and versatility of the products that they offer–they didn’t want to be penned in by an association with only one industry. They also had some specific requests unique to their sector and offerings in order to set them apart and set their clients’ expectations.
Our team got to work designing a new website layout and plugging in the countless images and product descriptions. Videographers geared up to visit the client’s warehouses and production facilities in order to capture some stellar drone footage that could be incorporated into the new website. And our graphic designers got started on some minor tweaks and updates to an old and cherished company logo–it needed to strike just the right balance.
After plenty of back and forth communication and eventual approval, the site launched–the newness was live! The client was thrilled with the new website that brought their vision to fruition but also allowed room for future growth and expansion. And we were stoked to be able to deliver on our brief to such resounding success. Product categories made more sense, details were organized and considered, and the focus was turned to a variety of industries that our client serves. This new website was a more accurate representation of how they did business in the modern era, and we were so happy to be able to make this goal a reality.
We loved this project! It’s always rewarding to help a niche, local operation that’s still going strong after four decades, but can still see that there’s room to improve and grow. At the same time, they had some very specific requests surrounding the sentimentality of the logo, and the specificity of language to be used on the site–both fine! We love clarity when it comes to direction on website design and content! However, we also really appreciated that when there was a little hesitancy at one step of the process, our client trusted our vision and took our guidance, treating us as the custom web design experts that we are. Our clients were responsive, easy to work with, and all-around good folk.
We really put in the work for this client too (as always!). We made the drive to meet with them in person and capture that invaluable drone footage, and while there we got a feel for their business operations, their company ethos, and what kind of people they were. We loved what we found.
